Genesis and Meaning
The name "Quattroporte" literally translates to "four doors," a simple but significant declaration when it launched 60 years ago. At a time when true Italian sports cars were almost exclusively coupes, the Quattroporte broke convention by packaging grand-tourer performance in a sedan silhouette.
Generational Journey
Across six generations, the Quattroporte evolved without diluting its core mission. Each iteration paired Maserati’s racing-derived engines with bespoke interior craftsmanship, moving from the hand-built 1960s originals through increasingly digital 21st-century models.
Final Curtain
Production of the sixth-generation Quattroporte ceased in late 2023. It leaves behind the Ghibli III as Maserati’s four-door offering while closing the books on six decades of a continuously produced nameplate.
