Produced from 1953 to 1969 by Fiat, the 1100 was an all-new unibody small family car that replaced the pre-war derived 1100 E and served as the bridge between the Fiat 508 lineage and the forthcoming Fiat 128.
History & Evolution
The new unibody Fiat 1100 arrived in 1953, dropping the separate chassis legacy of the old 508 C Balilla 1100 it replaced. Over its 16-year life Fiat kept the model fresh with running changes rather than dramatic redesigns, eventually being phased out by the more advanced Fiat 128 in 1969. Specialized commercial derivatives named 1100T carried on until 1971, and Premier Automobiles in India built the 1100 D derivative right up to the year 2000.

Measuring 3920 mm long, 1461 mm wide and 1501 mm tall, the Fiat 1100 packaged family-friendly proportions into a tight urban footprint.
