Introduced in August 1975, the Volvo 66 is a compact car that was developed from the DAF 66. Following Volvo's acquisition of DAF, the Volvo 66 served as a bridge between the DAF 66 and the later Volvo 300 Series.
History
The Volvo 66 was introduced almost exactly a year after Volvo bought DAF. It was based on the DAF 66, which was originally styled by Giovanni Michelotti.
Design
The Volvo 66 retained the design of the DAF 66. It had dimensions of length 3900mm, width 1540mm, and height 1380mm.
Generations
The Volvo 66 was a transitional model, sitting between the DAF 66 and the Volvo 300 Series. It was eventually succeeded by the Volvo 300 Series.
