The Stout shared its platform with the Toyota Dyna until 1968, when the Dyna was given its own 'U' platform. The K-series model code was also used by the ToyoAce until it switched to the Y-series in 1971, after which the code became exclusive to the Stout.
Legacy
The Toyota Stout was eventually succeeded by the Toyota Hilux. In Japan, it was sold at Toyota Japanese dealerships known as Toyopet Store. The Stout's production and sales history reflect its importance in Toyota's commercial vehicle offerings during its time.
