Launched in 1978, the Citroën Visa was a supermini produced by Citroën, despite being under the ownership of Peugeot, until 1988. It succeeded the Citroën Ami 6 and was later replaced by the Citroën AX.
History
The Citroën Visa was manufactured from 1978 to 1988 with a single facelift in 1981, resulting in 1,254,390 units produced over its production run. It was available as a five-door hatchback and a four-door semiconvertible.
Design and Variants
The Visa featured a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout and was produced in both petrol and diesel variants. Its dimensions included a length of 3690mm, width of 1520mm (not 60mm, assumed to be a typo), and height of 1410mm.
Production and Legacy
The Citroën Visa was not only produced in France but also assembled in China as the Liuzhou Wuling LZW 7100 minicar from 1991 to 1994, extending its production life beyond its initial run in Europe.
