Originally launched by Prince Motor Company in 1959, the Gloria series became part of Nissan's lineup following the merger of the two companies. The Gloria line eventually merged with the Nissan Cedric in 1971 and continued until its eventual replacement in 2004.
History
The Gloria was first introduced by Prince Motor Company in 1959 as a luxury car, initially based on the Prince Skyline. Following Nissan's acquisition of Prince, the Gloria continued under Nissan's branding.
Generations
The Gloria line saw multiple generations until it merged with the Nissan Cedric starting with the 1971 models. Both the Gloria and Cedric continued under separate identities until they were replaced by the Nissan Fuga in 2004.
Legacy
The Gloria played a significant role in Nissan's luxury car offerings for several decades, eventually being phased out in favor of a more streamlined model lineup.
