Launched in 2013, the Mercedes-Benz W222 represents the sixth generation of the prestigious S-Class, a flagship model for the brand. Produced until 2020, it was succeeded by the W223 S-Class. The W222's design was influenced by the Mercedes-Benz F700 concept car.
Design
The W222 was designed in 2009 by Korean designer Il-hun Yoon and a team led by Slovenian car designer Robert Lešnik. Its exterior design shares a similar theme with the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).
Generations
The W222 is part of the lineage of the S-Class, being the successor to the W221 S-Class and the predecessor to the W223 S-Class. It marks a significant iteration in the evolution of this luxury vehicle line.
