History
The Mercedes-Benz W120 was introduced in 1953 as the 180 model, featuring the 1.8 liter M136 engine. It was later complemented by the diesel variant, known as the 180 D, in 1954.
Design and Variants
The W120 was technically similar to the W121, which was introduced in 1956 as the 190 model with a 1.9 liter M121 engine. Both series were available in petrol and diesel versions. The W120 measured 4485mm in length, 1740mm in width, and 1560mm in height.
Generations
The W120 and W121 were produced in parallel for a period, with the W120 being sold until 1962 and the W121 until 1961. The W120 was succeeded by the W121.
