The Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class refers to two distinct car models produced by Mercedes-Benz, the first being a hard-top coupé version of the R107 series from 1971 to 1981, and the second being the R172 series from 2016 to 2020.
History
The term 'SLC-Class' was initially used for the hard-top coupé counterpart of the Mercedes-Benz R107, produced from 1971 to 1981. It was a successor to the Mercedes-Benz W111. Later, the designation was reused for the Mercedes-Benz R172, the successor to the SLK-Class R171, produced from 2016 to 2020.
Design and Variants
The first SLC-Class was based on the R107 series, while the later model, R172, continued the lineage of the SLK-Class with a facelift and updates. The R172 had a length of 4750mm.
Generations
There are two distinct generations associated with the SLC-Class name: the first generation (R107) produced from 1971 to 1981, and the second generation (R172) from 2016 to 2020.
