Introduced in 1997, the Mercedes-Benz C208 CLK-Class is a two-door grand touring car that replaced the two-door variants of the Mercedes-Benz W124. It was the first generation of the CLK-Class and was produced until 2002.
History
The 208-series Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class was launched in 1997, with the coupé (C208) being produced by Mercedes-Benz in Bremen from 1997 until 2002, and the convertible (A208) being assembled by Karmann in Osnabrück from 1998 until 2003. It was based on the 202-series C-Class.
Design and Variants
The C208 CLK-Class has two variants: a coupé and a convertible. The coupé has a length of 4567mm and a width of 1722mm. A total of 233,367 coupés and 115,161 convertibles were produced.
Generations
The 208-series CLK-Class is the first generation of the CLK-Class, succeeding the two-door variants of the Mercedes-Benz W124, and was later succeeded by the 209-series CLK-Class in 2002.
