The Ora Lightning Cat is a battery electric mid-size sedan introduced by Chinese maker Ora in 2022. Export sales overseas started in 2023 under the name GWM Ora 07.
Design & Positioning
Ora, Great Wall’s dedicated EV marque, positions the Lightning Cat squarely in the midsize sedan segment. Clean surfacing, short overhangs and a fastback roofline give it the proportions of an upmarket, design-forward electric saloon aimed at first-time premium EV buyers.
Global Launch
Debuted on the domestic Chinese market in 2022, the Lightning Cat began shipping to overseas right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive markets in 2023. Export cars carry the revised badge GWM Ora 07, signalling Great Wall’s desire to unify naming under the parent corporate identity outside China.
