Ora Good Cat

Great Wall Motor’s Ora Good Cat has been in production since November 2020, ushering the Chinese automaker into the global EV arena with a compact, city-focused electric hatchback.
History and branding
Debuting in late 2020 under Great Wall’s new Ora electric sub-brand, the Good Cat was conceived as an affordable electric runabout for urban buyers. To suit different markets it carries multiple badges: Funky Cat in the UK and select countries, GWM Ora 03 in Europe, Brazil and Indonesia, and simply GWM Ora in Australia and Nepal. Despite the name changes, the vehicle’s shape and core specification remain identical.
Design and packaging
Measuring 4 235 mm long, 1 825 mm wide and 1 596 mm tall, the Good Cat occupies tidy compact-hatchback proportions comparable to a Volkswagen Golf. A rounded roofline and smooth surfacing give it a retro-modern aesthetic, while short overhangs maximise interior space within a footprint that slips easily into crowded city streets. The cabin favours a clean, touchscreen-centric layout typical of new-generation Chinese EVs.
Global roadmap
From its domestic launch in November 2020, Great Wall rapidly pushed the model into export markets, with European sales starting in 2022. Each region receives the same battery electric architecture but gains region-specific branding, regulatory adjustments and charging-connector fitment. No direct predecessor or successor has been announced, signalling that the Good Cat remains the brand’s primary compact EV for the near term.
