Launch timeline
The first-generation Haval H9 arrived in Chinese dealerships toward the end of 2014, giving Great Wall a body-on-frame counterpoint to Europe-centric rivals. Ten years on, the company rolled out an all-new second generation in early 2024, underlining the model’s continued strategic role in the brand’s growing global footprint.
Built for scale
Its 4856 mm length and 1926 mm width place the H9 firmly in the full-size SUV class, while nearly two metres of roof height provides cabin volume for seven seats. A 2250 kg kerb mass reflects both the steel ladder frame and the full suite of off-road hardware including dual-range four-wheel drive.
2024 generation update
The new-for-2024 second generation keeps the body-on-frame architecture but adopts revised styling, upgraded electronic driver aids and cleaner powertrain choices, aligning the H9 with updated Chinese NVH and emissions standards.
