Launched in 1949, the Morris Commercial J-type was a 10 cwt van produced until 1961. Initially marketed by Morris Commercial, it later became known as the Morris J-type following the formation of the British Motor Corporation in 1952.
History
The Morris-Commercial J-type was introduced in 1949 and continued in production until 1961. With the merger of Morris' parent company, the Nuffield Organization, and Austin in 1952 to form the British Motor Corporation, the van's branding was simplified to Morris J-type from 1954 onwards.
Generations
The Morris J-type had a single generation with a change in branding in 1954. It was eventually succeeded by the Morris Commercial J4.
